Whakatane
New Zealand > North Island > Bay of Plenty
Whakatane Golf Club has played on this coastal site since 1932, when noted architect Charles Redhead was involved in laying out the grounds just north of the township, overlooking Moutohora (Whale) Island. The flat, easy-walking course normally presents in great condition with fast-running greens. Watch out for the par-3 16th, guarded by four steep-faced bunkers, singled out as the standout test on the back nine.
