Waiterimu

Waiterimu Golf Club is a deliberately out-of-the-way nine-holer set in rolling Waikato farmland, where sheep graze freely and electric fencing keeps them clear of the greens. The layout is more inventive than its size suggests: a tempting dogleg opens play at the 1st, the 389-metre 3rd carries the course's toughest handicap rating, and the round finishes at a tidy 140-metre par 3 framed neatly back toward the clubhouse. Greens are kept soft and true by a dedicated greenkeeper, and an often-empty car park adds to the sense of having the place to yourself.
