Waimarino
New Zealand > North Island > Manawatū-Whanganui
Waimarino Golf Club sits at 580 metres above sea level on the Ohakune-Raetihi Road, making it the second-highest golf club in New Zealand by the club's own reckoning. The altitude has a genuine effect on play - the ball travels further than at sea level - and the eighteen-hole, par-72 course looks out over Mount Ruapehu and surrounding farmland. A dedicated ladies' nine-hole morning and active junior programme round out a club clearly focused on developing the next generation of local golfers.
