Waikare
New Zealand > North Island > Waikato
Waikare Golf Club, established in 1928, is among the older clubs in the Waikato, starting with six holes at a research station before moving to Te Kauwhata in 1930 and growing to a full eighteen by 1958. The course now covers 75 acres of flat to gently rolling ground, with tree-lined fairways, water hazards and custom sculptures dotted through the layout. It takes its name from neighbouring Lake Waikare, the largest lake in the region, and sits a convenient halfway point between Auckland and Hamilton.
