Waihi
New Zealand > North Island > Waikato
Waihi Golf Club was established on 26 October 1906, originally as a nine-hole course at Hollis bush before relocating in 1953 to its present eighteen-hole site on Woodlands Road at Waimata. Volcanic ash subsoil gives the course excellent drainage, keeping it playable through wet weather, while tree-lined fairways and well-defended greens provide a fair test despite a relatively modest total length of under 5,700 metres.
