4.2 (Provisional rating) Urenui Golf Club sits right on Taranaki's west coast about thirty kilometres north of New Plymouth, with several greens backing directly onto the beach and views taking in both mountain and sea. The nine holes play as a full eighteen using alternate tees and greens, running through pohutukawa-lined fairways over flat, easy-walking ground. Strategic use of the native trees and water hazards keeps a genuinely scenic round from being too easy, and the neighbouring beach motor camp makes it a popular stop for travelling golfers.
