Tokarahi
New Zealand > South Island > Canterbury
Tokarahi Golf Club was established in 1967 with 28 founding members, playing nine holes in the Waitaki Valley that climb to 280 metres above sea level for sweeping views over the Maerewhenua River valley to the Kakanui, St Marys and Kirkliston ranges. A new irrigation system opened in 1999 followed earlier green improvements through the 1980s and 90s, all maintained by volunteer labour that keeps the course in immaculate year-round condition. Green fees are modest for a genuinely scenic country round.
