The Dunes Matarangi

4.0 The Dunes Matarangi sits on the shores of Whangapoua Harbour, with sea and harbour views from most of its eighteen holes and the Coromandel Range forming a backdrop behind Castle Rock. Originally laid out by New Zealand golfing great Sir Bob Charles, the course expanded from nine to a full championship eighteen in 2006, built on sand that drains well in all weather. It has hosted NZPGA professional events and is regularly rated among the country's must-play coastal courses.
