Thames
New Zealand > North Island > Waikato
Thames Golf Club formed in 1910, initially sharing space with the local racecourse as many early clubs did, before moving to its present site off State Highway 26 at Kopu in 1938. The eighteen holes run to just over 5,000 metres, and what first looks like flat, easy walking among tree-lined fairways turns out to hide real elevation change and genuine challenge once you're out on the course. The clubhouse also offers campervan parking for travellers passing through the Coromandel.
