Te Pohue golf course

Te Pohue

New Zealand > North Island > Hawke's Bay

GolfWise 4.3 (Provisional rating)

Te Pohue Golf Club has played on State Highway 5 between Napier and Taupo since 1967, in rolling paddocks with sheep grazing right across the fairways. Quirky hole names and varied elevation give the nine holes real character, and fenced greens sit among otherwise open farmland rather than a manicured layout. The settlement itself lies on an old Maori walking route later travelled by the European explorer William Colenso in 1847, giving the area deeper history than the golf club alone.
