4.1 Tapora Golf Club has played across undulating sand dunes on the Kaipara Harbour since 1964, an hour and a half from Auckland. In early 2023 it became the first course in New Zealand to install synthetic greens, part of a wider refurbishment that added new tee blocks, water hazards and cart paths, and the surfaces now keep the links-style course playable through the wettest months of the year.
