4.2 Tairua Golf & Country Club was founded in 1965 with a nine-hole course, relocating to its current central Tairua site in 1970 and extending to twelve holes by 1974 before reaching a full eighteen in 1994. The layout runs through hills interspersed with natural water features, within walking distance of the village, and Mt Paku nearby offers panoramic views over the harbour and islands. Beyond golf, the club also maintains four lawn croquet greens.
