4.4 (Provisional rating) Onekaka Links, about fifteen minutes from Takaka in Golden Bay, was originally designed in 2006 by Chris Castle and has grown into a genuinely unusual 36-hole property across two distinct courses. A second, considerably more testing Mountain Course opened in August 2019, adding double and even a triple green alongside deep revetted bunkers built into the natural, dramatic Golden Bay topography. Largely unknown outside the region and without tournament pedigree, it's earned a reputation among visiting golfers as something genuinely special.
