4.2 (Provisional rating) Ngunguru Golf Club opened over Labour Weekend 1989, after Doug Finlayson and Bob Johnson led a volunteer-built project on land leased from the local council. Set in a lush valley on the Tutukaka Coast, the nine-hole course plays a different back-nine routing to make up 18 holes, with a couple of holes on slight hills offering scenic valley views. Most of the original 1989 design remains intact today.
