4.2 Napier Golf Club, known locally as Waiohiki, was founded in 1896 and is Hawke's Bay's oldest golf course. It carries genuine historical weight, having hosted the very first New Zealand Open in 1907 and numerous national and interprovincial tournaments since. The tree-lined 18-hole layout is an easy walk but a real test for both beginners and low-handicappers, and the clubhouse - recently celebrating the club's 125th anniversary - looks out over the course from Korokipo Road.
