Martinborough
New Zealand > North Island > Wellington
Martinborough Golf Club plays a flat-to-gently-undulating, easy-walking par-72 course over 5,546 metres, with mature oaks lining many of the fairways. Holes carry evocative local names - Bull Hill, Tablelands, Tote (a nod to the site's former life as a racetrack), and Martins, honouring the family who donated the land to the town. The 3rd and 12th run narrow along the road next to neighbouring vineyards, claiming plenty of wayward balls, and the course record of 61 has stood since Lance Phelps set it in 2005.
