4.3 Manaia Golf Club sits fifteen kilometres west of Hawera on Surf Highway 45, its eighteen holes woven through productive dairy farmland with mountain views and two genuine historical landmarks on site - the Manaia Redoubt and an ancient Maori pa. A scenic walkway follows the banks of the Waiokura Stream through the property, and the easy-walking layout plays to a par of 71 for men over 5,469 metres. Visitors are welcome without booking ahead, and the club runs Sunday junior coaching alongside its regular programme.
