3.9 Kawerau Golf Club plays over flat, easy-walking ground beside the Tarawera River, about 40km east of Rotorua, with mountain views and plenty of birdlife along the fairways. The public course requires no advance tee times, and its 6th, 15th and 18th holes are singled out as the sternest test on the 18-hole layout.
