Hedgehope
New Zealand > South Island > Southland
Hedgehope Golf Club was established in 1968 in rural Southland, a nine-hole course among mature trees with several doglegs and elevation changes - the first three holes even cross a roadside, sending golfers over to adjacent fairways. Holes carry character names like Moonshine, a risk-reward par 4 at 263 metres with an elevated green, Glen Coe after the Scottish valley, and the wryly named Tractor Shed. It's a genuinely social club, with loud-shirt club days among the fixtures that keep the small rural community connected through golf.
