4.2 Hagley Golf Club was established in 1873 and plays its twelve holes inside Hagley Park on the northern edge of Christchurch's Botanic Gardens, a ten-minute walk from the city centre. The par-72 layout hosted the 1893 New Zealand Championship, an early landmark in the country's golfing history. Genuinely friendly and family-oriented, it remains one of the most centrally located golf courses of any New Zealand city.
