4.4 (Provisional rating) Bluff Golf Club sits on Omaui Road at Greenhills, fifteen minutes from Invercargill and close to New Zealand's southernmost mainland town, overlooking the Mokomoko inlet. The compact nine holes run mainly down the hill and back up again, breaking pattern at the 159-metre par-3 3rd, with the 2nd - Kohatu, Maori for rock - guarded by a rocky hazard partway up the fairway. It's an unpretentious, honesty-based club with no website: green fees are cheap and visitors simply turn up.
