4.3 Avondale Golf Club was established in 1919 on former sandhills country in eastern Christchurch, on the corner of Breezes Road and Wainoni Road, and markets itself as the city's most social golf club. Over a century the sandhills have matured into a genuinely playable yet challenging eighteen-hole layout, backed today by two virtual golf simulators with Flightscope tracer technology. It remains an active, welcoming club for members and visitors of all ages and abilities.
